Step 1: Try acessing the Website in compatibility view
Fix site display problems with Compatibility View
Step 2: Since as you have already reset IE, try the suggestions from "To check for Software Rendering mode"

I tried both with no success. I have also noticed that it only freezes when the Steaming Quotes" is turned on, the quotes function does not work when turned on but freezes the screen, I eventually will get a prompt at the bottom of the screen that says "Yahoo is not responding due to a long running script ", it gives you the option to turn it off but with the screen froze you can't click the stop button.

when ie freezes check what is the even captured in event viewer
to go to event viewer try these steps
press win key + r on the keyboard
type eventvwr.msc and hit enter

In order to retrieve Event Viewer logs, you may refer to following article and check if that helps :
Open Event Viewer
You may try to Boot the computer in safemode with networking and then try accessing Yahoo Finance Portfolio, if you are able to access the web pages in safe mode with networking mode, check for conflicting 3rd party service or app from clean boot process. Follow steps below:
Step 1: Safe mode starts Windows with a minimal set of drivers and services. If a problem doesn't reappear when you start in safe mode with networking then place the computer in clean boot and check.

I have experienced the identical problem of having IE11 stop working with the Yahoo Finance site, and if I switch, in my case, to using the Google browser, I do not experience the problem. It is particularly vulnerable with running videos at the Yahoo site. I have come to the conclusion that the problem is with the Yahoo software. Our duplicate experiences would tend to support that conclusion.

I noticed the problem with IE11 on Yahoo Finance about a month ago, when the stock quotes didn't work and had to switch to another browser. Quotes work fine on Edge, Firefox and Chrome.

I thought this only affected Windows 10, but see if this helps with Yahoo Finance:
From IE> Tools (or Alt + t)> Compatibility View Settings, verify that the site is not in the list, that "Use Microsoft compatibility lists" is unchecked and that "Display Intranet Sites in Compatibility View" is unchecked.

Hi Don,
Thanks for the reply. I didn't have the site on the Compatibility View list, but did have the checkboxes checked. I unchecked the boxes, and even restarted Internet Explorer, but still have the problem on Yahoo Finance. Generally the page, and most links come up, but the Quotes still don't work. Aaron.

Does refreshing the page help? Ctrl + F5.
